Jared Nivison studied a IISA Programme in Short Term Insurance at UNISA and has over 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry, having worked at companies including Mutual and Federal and Willis Towers Watsons. He was the second person to join the Renew Risk team and has been with iTOO for 10 years. Today, he serves as the company’s Managing Director and is an industry leader in the renewables space.

Trust Nhira studied a BCom Hons in Insurance & Risk Management from UNISA and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (FIISA). He has over 20 years’ experience in short insurance in various roles including broking, underwriting, reinsurance, risk management and claims. He has also spent over nine years specialising in renewable energy as a broker, risk manager and senior renewable energy underwriter at an independent power producer.

Akhona Mlotshwa studied a Bachelor of Science in Construction Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand and later went on to study a Bachelor of Science Honours in Quantity Surveying from the University of the Witwatersrand. She joined the iTOO Renew Risk team as a graduate after serving as Secretary General at The Association of South African Quantity Surveyors (ASAQS) Wits Student Chapter and being elected Treasurer of the School Council for the School of Construction Economics and Management at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Anthony Mwangi studied a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science at the University of Nairobi, followed by a Diploma in Insurance from the College of Insurance in Kenya. With 12 years of experience in general insurance underwriting, he has held various underwriting roles at AIG Kenya, Madison General Insurance & Kenya Orient Insurance. He specialises in underwriting of Accident, Casualty and Financial Line classes, and currently serves as an Associate of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (AIIK).

Marc Lovatt studied a Master of Law and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Witwatersrand. With a decade of experience in the specialty insurance industry, Marc has travelled and trained in 11 different African markets over the course of his career. He has lived and worked in South Africa, Namibia (iTOO’s first JV outside of South Africa) and Kenya. He attended the Swiss Re Business Class of Excellence in 2022 and served as a member of Africa Re’s 2022 Young Insurance Professionals Programme.

Sarah Rule studied a BCom in Management Sciences specialising in Financial Accounting at the University of Stellenbosch, before earning a Master’s in International Relations from Harvard University. She worked in Management Consulting for many years before joining iTOO nine years ago. Over this time, she’s worked in various strategic and insurance-related roles across the company.

Cindy Nasser is a CA(SA) obtaining her post graduate degree at the University of Johannesburg and has over 16 years of experience. She has spent the past decade working across the renewable energy sector with both South African and international IPPs holding diverse financial and strategic roles.
